Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics and Production Coordinator to join our team.

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Logistics and Production Coordinator plans, monitors, and reports on the flow of material from its origin to its destination to achieve both internal financial goals and expected delivery dates. This includes timely planning and scheduling work orders to the manufacturing floor, ensuring all parts are available for production to meet the customer delivery requirements. Responsibilities include:

  • Schedule and release production orders to meet customer demand, engineering changes, and safety stock requirements for lighting products.
  • Review and manage material shortages (e.g., LEDs, drivers, hardware, housings), tracking them through confirmed delivery dates and notifying Purchasing of risks or delays.
  • Adjust production schedules based on updated material availability and supplier timelines to minimize disruptions.
  • Communicate proactively with Customer Service and the Plant Manager regarding material shortages, schedule changes, and potential impacts to customer deliveries; recommend partial shipments when feasible.
  • Monitor production capacity to ensure scheduled hours align with plant capabilities and labor availability.
  • Partner with Customer Service to provide accurate and timely lead times for standard and customized lighting orders.
  • Collaborate closely with Production Supervisors to address daily schedule changes, priorities, and floor constraints.
  • Complete and finalize daily production schedules by 1:00 PM to support floor execution.
  • Track overseas supplier shipments, including monitoring cargo-ready dates, transit timelines, and arrival schedules; communicate any delays affecting project or order deadlines.
  • Log, track, and coordinate expedited/air shipments for critical lighting components or customer orders.
  • Obtain and maintain proof of delivery documentation when required.
  • Monitor and report daily on unshipped and undelivered sales orders, ensuring visibility into at-risk deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling, logistics, and reporting data within ERP or planning systems, providing timely updates as required.

Requirements:

- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field

- Proven experience as a Production Planner or in a similar role

- Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and production planning software
