Federal Account Manager/Customer Success

Akicita Federal is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Federal Contracts & Business Development Specialist to support contract management, reporting, compliance tracking, and business development activities across Akicita’s federal portfolio. This role is designed for someone with direct federal contracting experience who can manage contract requirements, monitor deliverables, prepare reports, maintain contract documentation, and support leadership with business development and capture activities.

The ideal candidate will understand the pace and compliance requirements of federal contracting and be comfortable working across contract operations, recruiting, HR, finance, proposal support, and executive leadership. This position will play a key role in ensuring Akicita stays ahead of reporting deadlines, contract deliverables, option periods, modifications, customer requests, and new business opportunities. Federal experience is required.

Key ResponsibilitiesContract Management & Reporting
  • Support day-to-day contract administration across multiple federal contracts and task orders.
  • Track contract deliverables, deadlines, reporting requirements, option periods, modifications, and funding updates.
  • Maintain organized contract files, including awards, modifications, invoices, correspondence, deliverables, staffing records, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for government customers and internal leadership.
  • Monitor contract requirements to ensure Akicita remains compliant with contract terms, labor categories, periods of performance, reporting schedules, and customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with program managers, recruiters, HR, finance, and executive leadership to gather information needed for reports and contract updates.
  • Support quality control tracking, including issue logs, corrective actions, customer feedback, and performance documentation.
Business Development & Capture Support
  • Assist with identifying new federal business opportunities through tools such as SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, GovWin, HigherGov, agency forecasts, and customer notices.
  • Track upcoming recompetes, new solicitations, RFIs, sources sought notices, and proposal deadlines.
  • Maintain a business development pipeline with opportunity status, due dates, agency contacts, contract values, NAICS codes, set-aside types, and next steps.
  • Support capture research, including agency background, incumbent research, contract history, competitor analysis, and customer requirements.
  • Assist with preparing capability statements, past performance summaries, teaming materials, and proposal support documents.
  • Coordinate internal meetings related to business development, capture strategy, and proposal planning.
  • Help collect and organize resumes, past performance examples, contract data, pricing inputs, and compliance documents for proposal submissions.
  • Support outreach to teaming partners, subcontractors, recruiters, and potential clients as directed.
  • Maintain organized BD records, including opportunity folders, submission documents, customer notes, and follow-up actions.
Internal Coordination & Administrative Support
  • Serve as a central coordination point between contract operations, business development, recruiting, HR, accounting, and executive leadership.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, action item trackers, and follow-up summaries.
  • Help leadership monitor contract health, staffing status, reporting deadlines, and growth opportunities.
  • Assist with internal dashboards, spreadsheets, trackers, and recurring reports.
  • Support process improvement efforts related to contract tracking, BD pipeline management, reporting, and compliance documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting federal contracts, government contracting operations, contract administration, or federal business development.
  • Understanding of federal contracting terminology, including task orders, modifications, CLINs, periods of performance, deliverables, labor categories, and reporting requirements.
  • Experience working with or supporting federal agencies, prime contractors, subcontractors, or government contracting teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines across contracts and opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to create and maintain trackers, reports, spreadsheets, and organized document repositories.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a compliance-driven environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive company, employee, pricing, and contract information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAM.gov, GSA eBuy, GovWin, HigherGov, FPDS, USASpending, or similar federal opportunity platforms.
  • Experience supporting healthcare, construction, professional services, staffing, IT, cybersecurity, or facilities-related federal contracts.
  • Familiarity with 8(a), small business, tribal, or set-aside contracting environments.
  • Experience assisting with proposal development, capture management, or business development pipeline tracking.
  • Experience supporting contracts for agencies such as IHS, VA, DOI, BIA, DHS, DoD, HHS, or Treasury.
