Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and building professional relationships? We are seeking a Physician Support Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for physicians and medical offices following patient imaging services.

This position is ideal for candidates with strong customer service, call center, healthcare support, medical office, or administrative experience. Radiology experience is helpful but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to service excellence.

Position Summary

The Physician Support Specialist provides high-quality support to referring physicians and medical offices by managing requests related to radiology reports, image sharing, physician portal access, urgent results communication, and physician consultations. This role serves as a key liaison between physicians, healthcare providers, and internal departments to ensure timely issue resolution and an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound physician and medical office calls in a professional, timely, and customer-focused manner.
  • Assist physicians with report requests, physician portal access, and secure delivery of results.
  • Process and coordinate image-sharing requests and provide guidance on available resources.
  • Manage physician report and image request queues to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Handle report addendum requests, including corrections, comparisons, and modifications.
  • Contact physician offices regarding urgent or critical findings as directed.
  • Coordinate physician-to-physician consultation requests.
  • Support physician portal enrollment and onboarding for new users.
  • Gather information regarding EMR, interface, and connectivity inquiries and coordinate with advanced support teams.
  • Assist with CPT code lookups, ordering resources, and insurance-related questions.
  • Document interactions accurately within CRM and other operational systems.
  • Escalate complex, urgent, or technical issues to the appropriate support teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, office staff, technologists, radiologists, and internal departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of customer service, healthcare support, medical office, call center, or administrative experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and customer service abilities.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn healthcare technology platforms, including CRM, RIS, PACS, physician portals, order management systems, digital fax systems, and phone systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor and commitment to exceptional service.

Preferred

  • Experience in healthcare, radiology, medical imaging, physician relations, patient services, medical records, scheduling, or referral management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, insurance processes, EMR/EHR systems, or physician portal support.
