Lab Technician Trainee in at Modern Mill Inc

The Lab Technician Trainee is responsible for following established lab procedures, completing required testing, and accurately documenting results. This role supports lab operations across multiple production areas and develops proficiency through hands-on training.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Follow all lab processes, procedures, and documentation requirements

· Perform testing on sample collection across production areas

· Accurately record and report results

· Communicate any equipment issues to management

LAB testing

· Collect samples, perform testing and document results for the following:

o Oven (shrinkage) testing

o Sieve testing (particle size analysis)

o Instron (3-point bend, fastener pull)

o Chamber (freeze/thaw) testing

o Water bath (absorption) testing

Training & Development

· Learn quality processes across all production areas

· Develop understanding product specifications and testing methods

· Demonstrate continuous improvement in accuracy and efficiency

Additional Requirements

· Dependable, maintain attendance, punctuality, and effective communication

· Work independently and as part of a team

· Read, write, and understand English for instructions and documentation

· Understand how to operate and read measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, thickness gauge, Shore D)

· Demonstrate attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn

· Overtime and occasional off-day training may be required

Safety

· Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements

· Use proper lifting techniques and safe work practices

· Complete Safety Modules accurately and within the time frame required.

Education

· High school diploma or GED

Experience

· Manufacturing/lab experience preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.

Working Conditions

· Frequent standing and walking

· Exposure to hot/cold environments, dust, and odors

· Work around heavy equipment and power tools

· Fast-paced environment with frequent movement
