Kitting & Materials Specialist (Manufacturing/Warehouse) in San Diego, California at Tecnova Advanced Systems, Inc.

Position Summary:

Tecnadyne is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory and Materials Specialist to support our manufacturing operations by ensuring materials are received, stored, tracked, and delivered accurately and efficiently. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production schedules, and ensuring materials are available when needed.

The ideal candidate has experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, material handling, or manufacturing environments and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

What You'll Do

Receive, inspect, count, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and receiving documents.Coordinate with Quality Inspection on incoming materials when required.Label, organize, and store raw materials, components, work-in-process (WIP), and supplies.Pick, kit, stage, and deliver materials to support production schedules and work orders.Issue materials to Production, Machine Shop operations, and external vendors.Process inventory transactions including receipts, transfers, issues, and adjustments in the ERP/MRP system.Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or low-stock concerns.Perform cycle counts and support physical inventory activities.Assist in investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and stockroom environment.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment when trained and authorized.Partner with Purchasing, Planning, Production, and Quality teams to support manufacturing goals.Follow all company quality, safety, and inventory control procedures.Qualifications

Required

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.Experience in inventory control, receiving, warehousing, material handling, shipping/receiving, or manufacturing operations.Basic computer skills and experience maintaining inventory records.Ability to manage inventory transactions accurately, including part numbers, counts, and documentation.Ability to read and interpret work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), packing slips, and related documents.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Preferred

Experience using ERP/MRP systems, inventory management software, or barcode scanning systems.Manufacturing industry experience.Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.Previous kitting, material control, or production support experience.Physical Requirements

Regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing throughout the workday.Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to work in a manufacturing, warehouse, and stockroom environment.Must wear required PPE and follow all safety guidelines.Schedule
