This is a senior software engineering opportunity focused on building the next generation of simulation review tools for mechanical engineering teams.
You’ll help develop capabilities that make complex simulation data easier to ingest, visualize, review, and connect to engineering decisions.
The role combines scalable backend development with high-performance visualization and technically demanding data workflows.
You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and customers to validate ideas and build solutions around real engineering needs.
As an early member of a new product team, you’ll have meaningful influence over architecture, product direction, and user experience.

• Design and build next-generation simulation review capabilities for complex engineering workflows.

• Develop backend services that ingest, process, and manage simulation data generated by industry-standard engineering and simulation software.

• Build high-performance visualization experiences capable of handling and displaying large engineering and simulation datasets.

• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions that establish the foundation for a new simulation-focused product area.

• Improve the performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of simulation-related systems as usage and data volumes grow.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and customers to validate concepts, understand workflows, and ensure solutions address meaningful user needs.

• Spend time embedded with existing engineering teams to understand current review workflows, product capabilities, customer needs, and opportunities for improvement.

• Help shape both technical implementation and product direction as the simulation capability evolves.

• Collaborate with platform engineers to ensure simulation functionality integrates seamlessly with the broader product experience.

• Translate complex technical challenges into practical, maintainable solutions while balancing product requirements and customer value.

• Communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and implementation considerations clearly across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Take ownership of complex engineering problems and contribute independently while knowing when to seek input from teammates and leadership.

• 8+ years of experience building and maintaining production software in modern engineering environments.

• Strong experience designing and developing scalable backend systems and customer-facing applications.

• Demonstrated experience building complex data visualization, graphics-intensive, or other high-performance applications.

• Experience working with large engineering datasets and performance-sensitive rendering or visualization workflows.

• Professional experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), or other Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) workflows.

• Experience working with engineering simulation platforms or software.

• Experience developing software for CAD, PLM, simulation, engineering data, or other technically complex engineering applications.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and the ability to make thoughtful technical decisions independently.

• Experience with backend development and modern programming environments; experience with C++ is valuable.

• Strong product mindset, with an ability to consider customer outcomes and usability alongside technical implementation.

• Ability to work effectively with Product Managers, Designers, engineers, customers, and senior stakeholders.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and taking ownership of problems without requiring detailed direction.

• Curious, adaptable, and motivated to understand the underlying customer problem before determining the technical solution.

• Experience contributing to early-stage product development or building new capabilities from the ground up is an asset.
