Manager, Indirect Procurement Category in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania at AdaptHealth LLC

Position Summary:

The Manager, Indirect Procurement Category is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for indirect spending categories that may include logistics services, Marketing, Professional Services, Facilities, and HR. This role ensures cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining quality and service standards. The Category Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive value, innovation, and continuous improvement of goods and services – for both resale, customer integration and internal use.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

• Develop and implement category-specific sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and market conditions
• Conduct comprehensive spend analysis to identify savings opportunities and consolidation potential
• Lead competitive bidding processes, including RFP/RFQ development, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations
• Establish and maintain category roadmaps with clear timelines, milestones, and success metrics
• Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies within assigned categories

Supplier Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal performance and value delivery
• Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed
• Identify and develop new supplier partnerships to enhance competitive positioning
• Manage supplier risk assessment and mitigation strategies
• Facilitate supplier innovation sessions and collaborative improvement initiatives

Stakeholder Collaboration & Requirements Management

• Partner with internal customers across logistics, marketing, professional services, facilities, and HR functions
• Translate business requirements into clear procurement specifications and sourcing strategies
• Provide procurement expertise and guidance to support business decision-making
• Ensure alignment between procurement activities and broader organizational goals
• Communicate category performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership

Contract & Financial Management

• Negotiate terms and conditions to optimize total cost of ownership while mitigating risk
• Develop and manage category budgets, tracking actual vs. planned spend
• Implement cost management initiatives and track savings achievement
• Ensure contract compliance and manage contract renewals and amendments
• Support accounts payable resolution and supplier payment processes

Process Improvement & Compliance

• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes, tools, and methodologies
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and external regulatory requirements
• Implement and maintain procurement best practices across assigned categories
• Support the development and enhancement of procurement systems and technologies
• Contribute to procurement policy development and standardization efforts
• Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
• Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
• Maintain compliance with Adapt Health’s Compliance Program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Management/Supervision:

• May be responsible for selection and hiring of qualified analyst(s) ensuring an effective on-boarding and providing comprehensive training and regular feedback.
• Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
• Establishes annual goals and objectives for any direct reports based on the organization’s strategic goals.
• Responsible for achieving organizational performance and retention goals, including timely completion of performance evaluations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, business, procurement, or a related discipline from an accredited university preferred
• Five (5) years of relevant work experience required in procurement or supply chain management required.
• Two (2) years’ healthcare experience, preferably in HME preferred
• Industry recognized certification such as the APICS’ Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP); the Institute for Supply Management’s Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent, is preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Subject to long periods of sitting and exposure to computer screen.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers due to extensive computer use.
• Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with internal and external customers and suppliers, with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
• May be required to travel as needed, estimated at 10-15% of time.

Compensation based on geolocation and experience $90,000-$120,000 a year
