Student Nurse – RWJBarnabas Health
At RWJBarnabas Health, the Student Nursing Assistant supports the nursing team in delivering compassionate patient care under supervision. This role assists with daily living activities, hygiene, mobility and provides comfort measures for patients.

As a Student Nurse, a typical day may include:
- Answers call lights and assist patients promptly and courteously,
- Contributes to the unit s overall patient satisfaction score by doing regular rounding, escalation of complaints and providing service recovery,
- Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting,
- Help patients with mobility, including transfers, walking, and repositioning,
- Support meal assistance and observe dietary restrictions as directed,
- Monitor and document basic vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and respiration, as instructed,
- Promptly report to the RN any abnormal readings or patient observations identified while performing tasks delegated by the RN,
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient care areas,
- Provide emotional support, listen to patient concerns, and communicate observations to nursing staff,
- Help with stocking supplies and preparing rooms for admissions and discharges,
- Blood Glucose Sampling, if applicable,

To be considered for this Student Nurse opportunity
- Currently enrolled in NLN-accredited Nursing Program. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Required.. Good communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology. Able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Possess excellent customer service.
- Current Americal Heart Association BLS certification
