Position Information


Recruiting for an administrative support position in Pathway Programs. Demonstrated administrative experience in a university or higher education environment is required. This is a grant-funded position and continued funding is contingent upon future grant renewals. Current grant funding for this position is projected through October 1, 2029. Please note: this position will be fully onsite at the UCR campus during the first six-month probationary period. After that, the position may be eligible to transition to a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite / 2 days remote. Additionally, the position requires in-person attendance for weekly Tuesday meetings and approximately three to five special events each year, as well as other in-person activities as needed.The full salary range for the Administrative Assistant-Pathways is $29.35 - $42.06 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $35.26 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Minimum Requirements
Exceptional organizational, time management and general office management skills. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines working with frequent interruptions. Ability to work on multiple assignments and manage time effectively to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced office.
Ability to work within a team and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Ability to interact effectively as an individual and a team member with department staff, faculty, students and outside community members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion and sound judgment.
Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Skill in communicating effectively and professionally using tact and diplomacy with a diverse population.
Demonstrated ability to compose business correspondence, edit and use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Demonstrated skill in creating and editing documents in word processing applications using advanced features and creating spreadsheets and reports using Word, Excel, Power Point or other software applications.
Skill in accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail.
Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of University policies and procedures related to procurement practices, equipment management, general accounting practices, account reconciliation, travel and entertainment reimbursement.
