SUNY Maritime College was founded in 1874 and holds the distinction of being the first and largest maritime school in the United States. The College is located at historic Fort Schuyler in Throggs Neck, New York, just 14 miles from midtown Manhattan.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Women's Soccer Coach / Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities is a full-time, dual-role position
responsible for directing all aspects of the Women's Soccer program while also overseeing the day-to-day
management of athletic facilities for the Department of Athletics. This position reports directly to the Director of
Athletics.

HEAD COACH DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Direct all aspects of the Women's Soccer program including practice planning, game preparation, individual and team skill development, and in-season competition management
  • Design and implement a comprehensive year-round training and instructional program that develops individual skill, team cohesion, and competitive performance at the NCAA Division III level
  • Lead all recruiting efforts to identify, evaluate, and sign prospective student-athletes in compliance with NCAA Division III bylaws and institutional admissions standards
  • Develop and manage the program budget, equipment inventory, game scheduling, and travel logistics
  • Serve as a liaison with academic support personnel to monitor student-athlete academic progress, eligibility, and overall well-being throughout the year
  • Collaborate with athletic training and strength and conditioning staff to support the health, conditioning, and rehabilitation of all program members
  • Mentor and develop student-athletes in their personal, academic, and athletic growth throughout their collegiate careers
  • Maintain year-round communication with current and prospective student-athletes, parents, alumni, and program supporters
  • All other coaching duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics

ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR FOR FACILITIES DUTIES:

  • Serve as the primary facilities coordinator for the Department of Athletics, overseeing scheduling, usage, and maintenance of all athletic venues and practice spaces
  • Coordinate facility reservations and usage calendars across all sport programs, ensuring equitable access and conflict resolution
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Department of Athletics and campus facilities, custodial, and grounds personnel
  • Oversee event setup, breakdown, and logistical coordination for home athletic competitions and departmental events
  • Ensure all athletic facilities meet safety, accessibility, and compliance standards at all times
  • Manage and track facility maintenance requests, repairs, and capital improvement priorities in coordination with campus operations
  • Assist the Director of Athletics with long-term facility planning, renovation projects, and vendor relationships
  • Maintain inventory and condition reports for all athletic equipment and facility assets
  • Support departmental events and special programming that require facility coordination


Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated Women's Soccer coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level
  • Working knowledge of NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and eligibility requirements
  • Experience with or strong aptitude for facilities management, scheduling, and event coordination
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a collegiate soccer program and facility responsibilities simultaneously
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean motor vehicle record
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Women's Soccer coaching experience at the intercollegiate level
  • Prior experience in an athletic facilities coordination or event management role
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in sports administration, physical
    education, or related field
  • Coaching certification from a nationally recognized agency
  • Familiarity with facility scheduling software and athletic operations platforms
  • Current Certification in First Aid, AED, and CPR


Additional Information:

Classification/Salary Range: The anticipated salary range is $51,261 to $60,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience, with an outstanding benefits package (for more information please see the UUP Benefits Summary). Special Notes: This is a full-time calendar year (12-month) position. Fair Labor Standard Acts (FLSA) Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
