This role is a high-impact analytical leadership opportunity focused on shaping pricing strategy and underwriting decisions across complex pharmacy benefit management (PBM) contracts. The position plays a critical role in developing, evaluating, and optimizing pricing models that directly influence client outcomes, financial performance, and competitive positioning. You will work at the intersection of finance, sales, clinical, and account management teams to design data-driven pricing strategies for both new business and renewals. This role requires deep expertise in PBM structures, strong financial modeling capabilities, and the ability to translate complex datasets into actionable business insights. - Lead and execute pricing strategy for PBM opportunities, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and market competitiveness across traditional and pass-through contract models.
- Manage end-to-end pricing processes for RFPs and client renewals, including data collection, financial modeling, scenario analysis, and pricing recommendations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Finance, Clinical, and Pricing teams to evaluate client opportunities and develop optimized pricing structures.
- Develop and present pricing models, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Analyze complex datasets using SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools to support financial modeling, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry benchmarks to refine pricing strategies and improve positioning.
- Streamline pricing workflows, tools, and analytical models to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Support contract negotiations by providing financial insights, scenario comparisons, and risk assessments.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives and contribute to broader organizational projects related to pricing and underwriting.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and governance requirements while maintaining data integrity and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related analytical field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial analysis, pricing, or underwriting within the PBM or healthcare industry.
- Deep expertise in PBM contract structures, including traditional and pass-through pricing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of pricing inputs such as plan design, rebate structures, pharmacy networks, specialty drugs, and utilization trends.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of SQL (including SELECT, CASE, JOIN, and conditional logic).
- Proven ability to independently manage complex RFPs, pricing models, and renewal processes with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large, complex, and unstructured datasets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across sales, finance, operations, and clinical teams.
