Role Overview:
The CI (Continuous Improvement) Technician is responsible for supporting and executing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives through hands-on operational and process improvement activities. This role includes building and installing workstations, fixtures, tools, visual management systems, and other equipment to improve workplace efficiency, safety, and productivity. The CI Specialist collaborates with employees, supervisors, and stakeholders to implement process changes, support Kaizen events, conduct process analysis, and promote lean methodologies across the production floor. Additional responsibilities include supporting waste reduction efforts, developing standard work, training employees on lean practices, analyzing manufacturing performance data, and assisting with process, tooling, and layout improvements to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support Lean and Continuous Improvement (CI) activities across manufacturing operations.
• Assist with 6S initiatives, Kaizen participation, and production support activities.
• Conduct process observations and maintain general CI documentation.
• Collaborate with team members, floor operators, supervisors, and stakeholders to implement process improvements.
• Lead Kaizen events and support continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.
• Coach floor operators through process changes without direct authority.
• Bridge communication gaps between floor operators and leadership regarding change management and CI initiatives.
• Conduct time studies and labor analysis to identify process improvement opportunities.
• Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Develop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentation.
• Assist with process capability analysis and manufacturing improvement efforts.
• Facilitate waste reduction initiatives and Lean manufacturing activities.
• Support Value Stream Mapping (VSM) activities and workflow improvements.
• Analyze manufacturing data and KPIs to support operational decision-making.
• Train employees on Lean manufacturing processes and CI methodologies.
• Support sustainment activities, audits, and continuous process compliance efforts.
• Assist with fixture, tooling, workstation, and process improvements.
• Provide hands-on manufacturing process support as needed.
• Perform additional tasks within the scope of the role as assigned by the Continuous Improvement Manager.
Requirements:What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt with strong knowledge of Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during daily operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Electrical experience and/or technical background preferred.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret tape measurements accurately.
• Excellent comprehension, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and self-supervise.
• Effective problem-solving abilities with strong critical-thinking and creative-thinking skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt with strong knowledge of Six Sigma tools and methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
