As an Underwriter, you will review and analyze merchant applications in accordance with Bank, Card Brand, and Company policies to mitigate potential risk and support portfolio growth. You will collaborate closely with Risk Management and Sales teams to identify emerging risk and market trends while contributing to business growth through sound judgment, proactive problem-solving, and a positive, solutions-oriented approach. Successful candidates must be self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities effectively, and comfortable evaluating risks and trade-offs to make informed underwriting decisions. The role also requires the ability to learn quickly and work efficiently across multiple systems.


Role Description

· Evaluate merchant applications using multiple underwriting tools to identify credit, fraud, and reputational risk

· Apply a methodical approach to analyze data, draw clear conclusions, and prepare written summaries in accordance with department procedures

· Maintain accurate records of all underwriting reviews

· Communicate and collaborate effectively with sales partners, merchants, and colleagues

· Work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced underwriting environment

· Other Duties as Assigned


Required:

· 2+ years of experience in payments processing, underwriting, or risk

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint

· Experience reviewing KYC and KYB documentation across all risk levels

· Strong ability to make risk-based decisions and work independently

· Demonstrate proactive critical thinking skills with a positive, solutions-oriented approach

· Manage multiple priorities effectively while maintaining accuracy, sound judgment, and diligence


Preferred:

· Exposure to systems such as GIACT, G2, Mastercard Match, Zendesk, and TSYS

· Experience using a CRM platform
