Are you an experienced CNC Machinist who enjoys both setting up and operating CNC equipment? Do you take pride in producing precision-machined components while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety?
We're looking for a CNC Machinist (Setup & Operator) to join our second shift team. This role is ideal for someone with strong setup experience who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting machining issues, and producing high-quality parts in a custom manufacturing environment.
What You'll DoAs a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for the complete setup and operation of CNC machine tools to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform complete machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and program verification.
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, horizontal mills, VBM machines, and other CNC equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Produce parts that meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Identify machining or quality issues and work with supervisors, engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve them.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine machine care.
- Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate production records.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, ISO quality procedures, and environmental standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving machining challenges. You take ownership of your work and are committed to producing quality parts safely and efficiently.
Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience
- Experience performing complete machine setup and operation
- Experience with editing CNC programming is required
- Strong experience with:
- CNC Milling
- CNC Turning
- Horizontal Milling
- Vertical Boring Mills (VBM)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tolerances
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and metrology
- Ability to select and install tooling, fixtures, and workholding
- Knowledge of conventional milling and turning is considered an asset
- Graduate of a technical school or equivalent experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Mechanical aptitude
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
- Standing and walking throughout the shift
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Second Shift:
Monday – Friday
10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Overtime may be required based on business needs.
