Position Summary
We are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented HR Generalist with hands-on human resources experience to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day operations of the HR department —including recruitment support, employee relations, benefits administration, leaves of absences, worker’s compensation, unemployment claims, and regulatory compliance.
This position is ideal for an HR professional looking to sharpen their operational skill set, gain exposure to multiple facets of human resources, and serve as a reliable point of contact for employees and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Lead new hire orientation to deliver a seamless candidate-to-employee transition.
- Conduct 30/60/90-day check-ins with new hires to gather feedback and bolster retention.
- Provide exit interviews.
- Assist with hiring events.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding company policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
- Assist HR leadership with lower-level dispute resolution, exit interviews, and documentation.
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, OSHA, EEO).
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date physical and digital personnel files in compliance with retention guidelines.
HRIS & Systems Administration
- Maintain data integrity in the HR Information System (HRIS) by accurately logging promotions, transfers, terminations, and address changes.
- Generate routine and ad-hoc HR reporting (headcount, turnover, tenure, engagement metrics).
- Partner with payroll processing to ensure accurate time tracking, wage updates, and leave logging.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Support annual Open Enrollment processes, health benefits distribution, and ongoing qualifying event changes.
- Track and coordinate routine FMLA, short-term disability, and worker's compensation claims.
- Answer basic benefit plan coverage questions for employees and act as a liaison with insurance carriers.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required:
- Experience: 2 to 4 years of direct HR experience
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Paylocity, Paycor) and standard office software (Microsoft Excel/Word/Teams).
- Core Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, high emotional intelligence, and absolute discretion when handling confidential data.
Preferred:
- Prior experience managing state-specific labor laws or multi-state compliance.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
