The Manager, Content Governance & Copy Review will lead the governance, execution, and continuous improvement of content review processes that enable compliant and effective commercial communications.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring promotional, educational, and scientific materials meet regulatory, legal, and quality standards within a highly regulated healthcare environment.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Clinical, and Quality to drive alignment and operational excellence.
The position combines strategic oversight, process optimization, stakeholder management, and team leadership to improve content approval workflows.
You will help shape governance frameworks, enhance review effectiveness, and support transformation initiatives that improve user experience and compliance outcomes.

The Manager, Content Governance & Copy Review is responsible for overseeing content governance strategies, improving review operations, and ensuring compliant execution of communication processes across a complex organization. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a regulated environment.
- Lead and develop external resources by establishing expectations, supporting performance management, coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and compliance.
- Manage copy approval operations by ensuring consistent review execution, reviewer alignment, high-quality submissions, and adherence to governance standards.
- Facilitate content review processes by coordinating reviewers, resolving issues, documenting decisions, and ensuring required updates are completed before approval.
- Partner with Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, Clinical, and Quality teams to improve process alignment and operational effectiveness.
- Support claims governance, content substantiation, documentation standards, and accuracy throughout the lifecycle of promotional and educational materials.
- Maintain and improve governance documentation, including SOPs, workflows, training materials, business rules, and compliance standards.
- Support audits, quality reviews, CAPA activities, compliance monitoring, and documentation requests.
- Provide regulatory and product knowledge to support informed decision-making within content review processes.
- Drive transformation initiatives by supporting technology adoption, stakeholder readiness, training, communications, and change management activities.
- Develop KPI reporting, operational dashboards, and trend analysis to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Create a customer-focused approach by delivering clear, impactful, and compliant communications.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and applicable health, safety, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in content governance, promotional review, compliance, regulatory affairs, or related functions within a regulated industry. This professional should demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to influence across complex, matrixed organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years of experience in copy approval, promotional review, regulatory affairs, medical communications, compliance, quality systems, content governance, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements affecting healthcare communications.
- Experience reviewing and approving promotional, educational, or scientific materials within a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of compliance audits, quality processes, and interactions with regulatory organizations.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with content approval systems and workflows such as Veeva, Aprimo, or similar platforms is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical technology, healthcare, professional education programs, or digital content delivery is a plus.
- Experience leading process improvement, digital transformation, change management, or technology implementation initiatives is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, talent development, and team management, is preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically approximately 10–20%.
- Competitive annual salary range of $102,000 - $177,100 USD, depending on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
