Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse while maintaining organization, inventory accuracy, workflow efficiency, and accountability across the facility. This is a hands-on leadership position within a small but critical warehouse environment supporting a fast-paced automotive refinishing, remanufacturing, and logistics operation.
Reporting directly to Operations Leadership, the Warehouse Lead works closely with production teams, route personnel, and management to ensure materials and inventory are accurately received, stored, staged, and distributed to support daily business operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining inventory integrity through RF-SMART and NetSuite while promoting a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Warehouse Operations
- Lead the daily warehouse operation while setting the standard for organization, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Coordinate warehouse workflow to support production schedules, route operations, and customer commitments.
- Receive, inspect, label, stock, pull, stage, and distribute materials, parts, wheels, and supplies accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, transfers, and deliveries.
- Ensure warehouse materials are properly organized and easily accessible.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse-related operational issues and assist in resolving workflow challenges.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using RF-SMART handheld scanners and NetSuite inventory transactions.
- Ensure physical inventory remains aligned with system inventory through accurate receiving, issuing, and transfer processes.
- Perform daily inventory transactions with a high level of accuracy.
- Identify inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits.
- Monitor inventory movement and recommend improvements to inventory control processes.
- Work closely with Operations Leadership to ensure inventory levels support production demands.
- Lead by example through active participation in warehouse operations.
- Provide guidance, training, and direction to warehouse team members as the operation grows.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the warehouse.
- Assist with onboarding and training new warehouse employees on company procedures, safety practices, and inventory systems.
- Communicate effectively with production teams, drivers, purchasing, and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain compliance with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Ensure warehouse equipment, storage areas, and workspaces remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Promote safe material handling practices and proper operation of warehouse equipment.
- Report safety concerns and recommend improvements to warehouse processes.
- Collaborate with production personnel, route teams, purchasing, and Operations Leadership to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and operational performance.
- Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of warehouse, inventory, logistics, or distribution experience.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Experience using inventory management systems such as NetSuite, RF-SMART, or similar ERP/WMS platforms preferred.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and shipping/receiving processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
What We’re Looking For
- Prior warehouse leadership or lead experience
- Experience with RF-SMART, barcode scanning, or WMS systems strongly preferred
- Comfortable using inventory systems and technology daily
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- High accountability and follow-through
- Ability to prioritize and operate independently without constant supervision
- Forklift experience preferred
- Automotive, manufacturing, or distribution experience is a plus
