CNC Machinist & Programmer

Job Type: Full-Time
Starting Pay: $27.00/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Saturday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
Schedule: Approximately 56 hours/week
Temp-to-Hire: Potential opportunity after 90 days

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to produce precision industrial components using CNC lathes and mills. This hands-on role requires strong blueprint reading, CNC programming and setup skills, and the ability to consistently hold tight machining tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret shop machining drawings and technical documentation.
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and mills.
  • Develop and modify programs using G-code.
  • Work with Fagor, Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls; experience with every control is not required.
  • Produce components to tight tolerances, including tolerances as close as 0.0005".
  • Inspect finished work using calipers, micrometers, dial bore gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain part accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain consistent production quality and minimize errors or rework.
  • Follow safe work practices in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and a professional work ethic.
  • Work the required schedule, including occasional Saturdays.
  • Safely handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience with CNC programming, setup, and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret machining drawings and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of G-code.
  • Experience with CNC lathes and mills.
  • Ability to use precision inspection equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and dial bore gauges.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate parts to tight tolerances.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work the required schedule.
Work Environment
This is a hands-on machining position in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. The successful candidate should be comfortable working extended shifts and handling materials up to 50 lbs. when required.
