CBO Support Representative

Position Summary
Performs all support functions for the Central Business Office (CBO). Support Revenue Cycle Billing and Accounts Receivable collections functions.
Responsibilities
• Performs account review and data correction duties to promote clean claims submissions to all payer types and to patients
• Sorts, scans, and delivers mail including payer and patient correspondence to appropriate location or department
• Indexes all correspondence into Epic system
• Problem solves to find the appropriate department to handle all correspondence
• Compiles multiple deposits into one daily and completes balancing and reconciliation process
• Performs bankruptcy process within Epic system and responds to all attorney requests
• Posts payments in pharmacy system
• Performs duties in compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, and Kootenai Health policies and procedures governing Revenue Cycle compliant processes
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma preferred
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a hospital or clinic registration office, or performing equivalent functions in support of a hospital, clinic, or other business/organization preferred
• Knowledge of current commercial and government payer types, understanding of payment methodologies. Familiar with navigation through payer websites sufficient to obtain required information
• Medical terminology familiarity preferred
• Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills required
• Ability to work well in a team environment, and independently with minimum supervision
• Experience working in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word

• Must be able to lift and move up to 10 lbs
• Must be able to maintain a sitting position
