Human Resources Generalist in Carteret, New Jersey at Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery

We are seeking an organized and bilingual HR Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support to fulfillment and office employees. This role will support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, timekeeping, temporary employee payroll, benefits administration, and general HR operations.

• Coordinate recruitment, candidate screening, interviews, and hiring for entry-level positions.
• Manage onboarding, new hire orientation, and employment documentation.
• Support employee relations, investigations, coaching, and disciplinary documentation.
• Review timecards, attendance records, and missed punches, coordinating corrections as needed.
• Process temporary employee payroll across multiple locations.
• Maintain confidential employee records and update HRIS information.
• Assist with benefits enrollment, leave requests, employee changes, and separations.
• Coordinate with staffing agencies regarding temporary staffing needs and employee concerns.
• Support managers with staffing, performance concerns, training, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 2 years of HR experience.
• Experience with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and timekeeping.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Work Environment

This position supports both office and fulfillment employees and requires regular interaction with employees and supervisors across departments. Occasional flexibility in work hours may be needed to support different shifts.
