Tribal Health is growing, and we’re looking for a relationship-driven Business Development Associate to help expand our impact in rural, Tribal, and Indigenous healthcare communities. This is not a traditional sales role. It is an opportunity for someone who listens first, builds trust over time, and represents the organization with humility, integrity, and follow-through. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, this role is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities while fostering long-term partnerships that support sustainable healthcare outcomes. Tribal Health partners with rural hospitals, Indian Health Service (IHS) facilities, Tribal 638 facilities, federal agencies, and other healthcare systems to provide staffing, consulting, practice management, and clinical solutions tailored to underserved communities. Our work is grounded in culturally respectful care, community voice, and long-term improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare leaders, Tribal partners, administrators, and community stakeholders

· Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Tribal Health’s mission and services

· Prospect and generate new client opportunities across hospitals, IHS, federal agencies, clinics, and long-term care facilities

· Understanding each community’s needs, challenges, and priorities before proposing solutions

· Leverage relationships to build referral networks and expand partnerships

· Maintain and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities using CRM systems

· Meet or exceed business development and revenue targets

· Partner with internal teams to ensure successful client onboarding and contract fulfillment

· Represent Tribal Health with professionalism, cultural respect, and integrity

· Travel regularly to remote communities, facilities, conferences, and partner meetings

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications

· 2–5 years of experience in business development, account management, healthcare sales, or staffing (healthcare preferred)

· Experience or familiarity with federal contracting, IHS, Tribal health systems, or rural healthcare environments preferred

· Proven ability to build trust-based relationships and manage long-term partnerships

· Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills

· Self-motivated, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset

· High integrity and strong follow-through

· Resilience, adaptability, and comfort navigating complex environments

· Cultural humility and sensitivity when working with Indigenous and diverse communities

· Experience working respectfully with Tribal Nations or Native communities strongly preferred

Travel Requirements

· Weekly travel, often to remote or rural areas

Why This Role Matters
