The Surgical Technologist prepares and maintains a sterile environment by following existing surgical standards, policies and procedures prior to the physician performing surgical procedures.

Education/Experience Requirements
Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program required

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required:

• Current certification (or certification eligible) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required. If hired prior to receiving certification, the employee must take and pass the certification exam during the first year of employment. Continued employment as a Surgical Technologist is contingent on the employee passing the certification exam. Re-certification with the NBSTSA must be maintained throughout employment at Crouse Hospital.
