Application Developer (Java) at Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. – Washington, District of Columbia

Salary: 90-100k

Location: On site– Washington, DC (supporting federal agency systems)

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking an Application Developer to support a federal client in building and maintaining Java-based batch applications that enable secure and reliable data migration across enterprise systems.

This role focuses on Java batch processing and database migrations within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment supporting federal operations.

As an Application Developer, you will:

• Build and maintain batch applications using Java

• Support data migration to and from PostgreSQL databases

• Upgrade Java and related software components as required

• Work with batch processing frameworks, including Spring Batch

• Support data movement involving platforms such as Greenplum and Amazon Redshift (as applicable)

• Collaborate with technical team members in a dynamic development environment

• Contribute to reliable, maintainable, and secure application solutions

• Full-time (40 hours/week)

• On site: Washington DC

• U.S. Citizenship required (U.S. citizens or dual citizens only)

• Public Trust clearance required or higher

• 3–5 years of experience with Java development (Java 8 required; Java 21 preferred)

• 2 years of experience with Spring Batch or batch processing frameworks

• 2 years of experience supporting data migrations

• Experience working with PostgreSQL databases

• Familiarity with data migration to/from Greenplum or Amazon Redshift is a plus

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced development environment

• Support mission-critical federal application development

• Work on real-world Java batch processing and data migration challenges

• Collaborate with experienced engineers and technical teams

• Gain exposure to modern Java upgrades and enterprise data platforms
