About This Position
CLASS SUMMARY
Provide monitoring, management, and operational support of LAN/WAN network architecture, including network administration tasks involving Cisco and FortiNet switching and firewalling infrastructure; enterprise wireless systems utilizing 802.1X authentication; Microsoft 365; power management and conditioning systems; site-to-site and remote access VPNs; VoIP; physical and virtual server environments, including Hyper-V; Windows and Linux server administration, including new server builds, patching, and general system administration; server backup and recovery operations using Veeam; patch management and endpoint lifecycle management using SCCM and Intune; Active Directory; Group Policy; workstations; and other networked endpoints (e.g., codecs, cameras). Demonstrates appropriate solutions to errors or operational issues and assists with the support and execution of disaster recovery plans.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer, engineering, or a closely related field.
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in Information Systems with work experience in software and server administration, network administration, and desktop administration, or any satisfactory combination of equivalent training and experience.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE, AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Network+ or CCNA certification is required. Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Utilize diagnostic software, technical troubleshooting processes, and expertise to promptly diagnose and rectify anomalies or malfunctions. | Network Setup and Configuration: Deploy local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other network infrastructures. Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices to ensure optimal network performance and security. | 10 |
| Network Documentation and Diagramming: Create and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and inventory. Document network architecture, IP addressing, device configurations, and network connectivity details for future reference and troubleshooting. | 10 |
| Network Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as firmware updates, patch management, and network device configurations. Upgrade network infrastructure components as needed to meet evolving business needs and technology advancements. | 10 |
| Network Performance Optimization: Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize network performance. Identify areas of congestion, latency, or other performance issues, and implement solutions to improve network efficiency and user experience. | 10 |
| Network Capacity Planning: Monitor network usage and plan for future capacity needs. Assess network bandwidth requirements based on current and projected usage patterns, and make recommendations for network upgrades or optimization. | 10 |
| Network Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues. Respond to user inquiries, resolve network connectivity problems, and assist with network-related software or hardware installations. | 10 |
| Server Operating System Installation: Install and configure server operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux distributions) on new or existing server hardware. Follow best practices for server operating system setup, including partitioning, disk configuration, and driver installations. | 5 |
| Patch and Vulnerability Management: Develop and implement processes for managing patches and vulnerabilities in the LAN and WAN infrastructure. Stay updated on security vulnerabilities and advisories related to networking components and ensure timely patching and mitigation to reduce the risk of exploitation. | 5 |
