We are looking for a dedicated, full-time Resident Life Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate brings experience in senior living settings - such as long-term care, assisted living, or memory support - and a genuine commitment to serving older adults.

This energetic, dependable, and service-oriented role supports our vibrant community in Norfolk. Responsibilities include fitness instruction, resident transportation, program support, and concierge services, all aimed at creating an engaging and welcoming experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engaging fitness classes for residents, accommodating all ability levels.
  • Ensure a safe, motivating environment during workouts and activities.
  • Provide resident transportation, including Saturday shuttles and occasional weekday support.
  • Assist with setup, facilitation, and breakdown of events and programs.
  • Cover concierge desk shifts and support residents with questions or requests.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and uphold community standards.
  • Support additional operational or resident life tasks as needed.
  • Foster a connected, vibrant, and welcoming community for all residents.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with older adults or dementia populations; CCRC experience preferred.
  • Group fitness instruction experience (certification preferred).
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license with good driving record; comfortable operating passenger vans or shuttles.
  • Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and independent decision-making skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, professional, and committed to resident safety.
  • Basic computer proficiency; experience with electronic scheduling systems preferred.
  • Ability to physically assist residents, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, and climbing stairs.
