About This Position
Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.
We are currently recruiting for a Direct Support Professional within our Day Services program. This position works with individuals with Developmental Disabilities encouraging them to live independent and productive lives.

Job Responsibilities
- Provides timely and accurate service related documentation to include progress notes.
- Provides transport of individual(s) to and from program sites and community activities and/or assists individuals with securing private transportation arrangements as needed.
- Assists in planning, implementing and updating individualized services utilizing a person-centered approach that is focused on independent living and community inclusion and participation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Monday-Friday:8:00am-5:00pm. (Hours can range)
We are currently recruiting for a Full-Time position within our Day Support program.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
- Work experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
DMV record must be submitted with application.
