About This Position

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Responsible for managing a branch office, including the direct supervision of all personnel; maintaining a client centric culture, developing new retail and commercial client relationships, building existing relationships by effective sales and cross-selling of bank products. Responsible for overall balanced performance of Branch with emphasis on consumer and small business lending, deposit acquisition and non-interest income generation. Increasing branch service standards which parallel Manasquan Bank’s Core Values to clients and prospective clients. Weekly outside calling program which includes merchant services and loan products: accepting and closing loan applications, both retail and commercial.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide exceptional client service building rapport and relationships by adhering to the G.R.E.A.T. system of customer service and using a needs-based solutions approach.

• Create effective strategies for meeting organizational goals and motivate and drive the entire Branch Team to meet/exceed performance goals.

• Possess strong management skills including conducting Branch strategy sessions; one on one sales coaching; identifying prospects and building new business through new relationships and expanding existing relationships, branch marketing efforts and on-site participation.

• Direct, control, and manage the staff of a full-service retail branch. Includes selection, training, performance management and personal development.

• Partner with Branch staff, Commercial Lending, Cash Management and Senior Management to call on businesses and develop relationships.

• Maintain positive relationships and provide quality leadership, encouragement and guidance to all branch personnel and ensure staff are aware of the strategic focus of the Bank.

• Open new accounts.

• Assist and educate prospective borrowers with the completion of loan applications.

• Act as main point of contact during loan underwriting process and through loan closing.

• Prepare account loans.

• Actively participate in community events and networking/civic organizations to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities to include leadership roles such as Board membership/Leadership and Committee leadership.

• Identify and perform CRA related activities.

• Responsible for branch security and its controls.

• Responsible for supervising building maintenance (including any free-standing drive-in or ATM kiosk as may be applicable).

• Coordinate and oversee Retail Assistant Branch Manager, Universal Banker Supervisor, Universal Banker, and Teller training.

• Initiate and verify wire transfers.

• Ensure all Bank policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff.

• Maintain a Satisfactory Branch Operations Audit

• Take commercial loan applications, gather all necessary documents for underwriting, act as main point of contact during loan underwriting process and close commercial loans.

• Other duties may be performed, both major and minor and specific activities may change from time to time.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to maintain and report on confidential information in an appropriate manner

• Ability to manage time, resources, and set priorities to accomplish multiple duties.

• Strong problem recognition and resolution skills.

• Proficient in various spreadsheet and word processing applications.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years branch banking experience with at least two years of experience as a Branch Manager preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Working conditions are those of an “open” office environment, which can require the ability to manage some stress such as noise level from customers, employees and general office equipment, etc. Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers: to use computer, telephone, fax, copier, coin machine and general office equipment. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering simple to complex information from both customers and co-workers. Sitting for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours), standing and walking up to 20% of work time. Ability to bend and lift coin boxes and bags, up to approximately 30lbs. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel within and outside of branch network.
