About This Position
Position SummaryThe FBO Line Services Manager is responsible for day to day overall management of the FBO services division including the fuel farm, line service personnel, inventories, properties, equipment, marketing, sales, customer service relationships, and adherence to company policies and procedures and safety standards for the department’s staff and our clients, customers and guests.Plans, directs and coordinates activities concerned with the FBO operations in accordance with Hawthorne, governmental, and environmental agencies policies and regulations. Management, training and development of department personnel, securing the required number of staff and ensuring the required level of qualifications and experience. Coordination with management, other departments, manufacturers, vendors and customers in matters of overriding importance. Ensuring that all tasks are carried out in accordance with Hawthorne procedures, process specifications, technical requirements, manufacturer requirements, aviation rules, and every other applicable or accepted requirement of an authorized body. Supports the development of pricing schedules and rates for any relevant ground handling services provided. Participates in negotiations with commercial partners and third party service providers, where and as necessary. Supports existing relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers and establishes new relationships accordingly. Manages and oversees the operation of Ground Support Equipment necessary to provide the aforementioned, including specification of new equipment. Overall responsibility for managing and operating the department within budget and performance expectations. Enhances and reinforces training programs to insure that a high and continuing level of customer service and line service is maintained. Drives results to achieve company and departmental goals. Communicates changes or additions to company or departmental policies to the staff. Motivates and encourages all staff to provide the highest service levels. Assumes additional responsibilities and delegates responsibilities to qualified personnel, as necessary.

Flexible work schedule may include working overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and be on-call as required for an operation like Hawthorne which operates 24/7/365With company provided computer and cell phone you must be able to make yourself available via technology connections from your home (connection to be provided by Manager)On the job training for new employeesMiscellaneous other duties as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing and overseeing the performance of all quality control functions, safety training and standards, line service supervisors, line service staff and facilities maintenance personnel and vendors.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED certificateBachelors degree in related field, or equivalent combination of training and experienceValid state drivers license and at least 18 years of ageMeet the Company’s operational and safety training requirementMinimum five (5) years of progressive experience in FBO Management or the equivalent in an aviation related fieldDemonstrated ramp operation and management capabilityAptitude in supervising and developing staffExcellent oral/written communication skillsConsistently demonstrated good organizational and leadership skills Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook with the ability to learn new software as requiredMust pass all conducted drug/alcohol screens, background and security checks and prove eligibility for employment in the United StatesCustomer relations skills requiredAbility to act under pressure and be adaptable to change on a constant basisPhysical Demands
Working Conditions
- Requires both working indoors and outdoors, with exposure to nature’s elements.
