Job Description

Major Drilling is seeking a Project Assistant to support the underground project office located in Elko, NV. We are looking for a master multi‑tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. Candidates should be able to assist management and visitors by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail, and e‑mail, making reservations or travel arrangements, and maintaining a positive presence in the workplace.

To be successful as a Project Assistant, candidates should be professional, polite, attentive, and accurate. They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. The Project Assistant must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, they should become familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

The Project Assistant provides support to on‑site leaders, employees, and office visitors by handling a variety of tasks to ensure that all interactions between Major Drilling and others are positive and productive.

Responsibilities

Assist project leadership with tasks as assignedCarry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.Answer and direct phone callsReply to email, telephone, or in‑person inquiriesMaintain contact listsOrganize and schedule meetings and appointmentsProduce and distribute correspondence, memos, letters, emails, and formsAssist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reportsDevelop and maintain a filing systemBook travel arrangementsSubmit and reconcile expense reportsProvide general support to visitors and new employeesEnsure operation of office equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventoriesBook conference calls, rooms, transportation, couriers, hotels, etc.Handle sensitive information in a confidential mannerTake accurate meeting minutes as neededOther duties as assignedRequirements

High school diploma or GED preferredProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)Proven administrative or assistant experienceKnowledge of office administrative systems and proceduresExcellent time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize workAttention to detail and strong problem‑solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and planning skillsMajor Drilling offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes:
