Job Description
ASI Government is seeking an Acquisition Content Developer to support the development and expansion of acquisition/AI tools to assist the acquisition workforce. The Acquisition Content Developer will work directly with key client and internal ASI stakeholders to quickly understand and document acquisition and procurement processes for different types of procurements. The candidate will identify and consolidate existing policies, procedures, templates, and other resources, analyze their effectiveness, and identify and develop new content to address gaps or enhance learning. The successful candidate is a quick study with strong analytical and writing skills, a process-oriented mindset, and the creativity to bring innovative ideas for streamlining how acquisition professionals — both new and experienced — complete their work. Acquisition experience is highly desirable but not required; the ability to rapidly absorb complex processes and translate them into clear, usable content is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Process Discovery and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work directly with DLA Energy stakeholders and subject matter experts to quickly understand and document acquisition and procurement processes for a wide range of buy types, including complex, high-dollar-value procurements
- Conduct interviews, working sessions, and process walk-throughs with contracting officers, program staff, and other key stakeholders to capture detailed process knowledge and existing resources
- Build trusted working relationships with client stakeholders to enable open dialogue and rapid information gathering
- Translate complex or ambiguous knowledge from SMEs into clear, structured, and reusable documentation
Resource Identification, Analysis, and Gap Assessment
- Consolidate and categorize existing acquisition resources, including policies, procedures, templates, checklists, job aids, and reference materials
- Review and analyze the effectiveness, accuracy, and usability of existing resources
- Identify gaps, redundancies, inconsistencies, and outdated content across the existing resource library
- Recommend prioritization for content development, refresh, or retirement based on user needs and process criticality
Content Development
- Develop new content — including process maps, procedures, instructions, decision trees, templates, checklists, training, and reference materials — to address identified gaps and support cradle-to-grave acquisition activities
- Produce content quickly and iteratively in a fast-paced environment, balancing speed with quality and accuracy
- Bring innovative ideas for streamlining existing processes and making acquisition activities easier and more intuitive for both new and experienced staff
- Participate in technical and design discussions to ensure content development and tool development remain aligned
User Engagement and Pilot Support
- Facilitate focus groups with target users to gather input on content needs, usability, and process pain points
- Support pilot user testing activities, including preparing materials, observing sessions, capturing feedback, and synthesizing findings
- Translate user feedback into actionable content improvements and process refinements
- Help build user confidence and adoption through clear, accessible, and well-organized content
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a government clearance; active clearance a plus
- 5+ years of experience in roles requiring rapid absorption of complex processes and the development of clear, structured content (e.g., consulting, process documentation, training development, technical writing, business analysis, or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex, ambiguous processes and translate them into clear, usable documentation
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess existing resources, identify gaps, and recommend improvements
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce polished, client-ready content quickly and accurately
- Proven ability to engage credibly with subject matter experts and senior client stakeholders to elicit information and build trust
- Experience facilitating meetings, working sessions, or user testing activities
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset
