POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides technical support to the dental implant finishing, and packaging departments at the Straumann Manufacturing site in Andover, Massachusetts by ensuring all equipment and processes are performing at maximum efficiency. This is a hands-on technical position in an automated production environment requiring knowledge of electro-mechanical trouble shooting and repair. The position will also entail outright production of medical devices (dental implants) as deemed necessary by the department Line Chief.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance for production and support equipment. This includes cleaning of the equipment and adjacent work areas.
• Perform unplanned maintenance for production and support equipment.
• Optimize performance of production and support equipment by adjusting, modifying or otherwise tuning said equipment to maximize on-line time and minimize production cycle time.
• Assist production associates and operators in setting up and adjusting equipment for specific lot processing.
• Present process improvement ideas to the Department Line Chief, and if approved, assist with implementation of same.
• Complete and file all preventive and unplanned maintenance records.
• Manage spare parts inventory.
• Maintain an up-to-date record of all equipment operating parameters and settings, including programmable logic controller and machine interface screen programs.
• Create or modify process operating and maintenance procedures.
• Run production equipment or perform manual production and validation tasks as directed by the department Line Chief.
• Ensure all equipment and processes operate in accordance with established environmental, health and safety procedures.
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have management responsibilities.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES (If Applicable)
• Production environment will include working in ISO7 clean rooms with required clothing (gown, mask, gloves, foot ware).
• Production environment will include working with various acid mixtures
• Ability to lift 50 lb without restriction.
• Utilize manual dexterity and ability to manipulate small objects
• Utilize computer skills to complete internet searches to source replacement parts
• Utilize Vernier calipers and micrometers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• HS Diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience in a production or field service environment
• 2+ years of experience with industrial controls and wiring diagrams.
• 2+ years of working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous manufacturing, equipment repair or equipment rework experience in a regulated environment preferred.
• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers, robotic and general industrial control systems preferred.
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Careful and resilient problem solver, with agility and adaptability to remain focused in a fast-paced production environment.
Salary: $30.00 - $33.00/hour. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
