voestalpine Signaling USA is seeking an Electronics-Production Technician to work at its Loveland, Colorado location.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail oriented, energetic, self-motivated individual to join our ever-growing team. Candidate must be able to work effectively in an electronics focused production and team-oriented environment. Duties will include building and maintaining electro-mechanical systems, assisting engineers with design updates, and obtaining a detailed set of assembly documentation. The position may also include the construction of prototype systems. Some component research and specification may also be necessarily, along with SOP, work instruction or best practice documentation creation.

The successful candidate must have a background in both mechanical and electrical systems. Electronics experience is a plus, as well as networking programming and troubleshooting.

This is a hands-on position with the potential for travel to assist the Field Services department with system installation and testing. Possibly to consist of some domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions

  • Build and assemble electro-mechanical components Assemblies and Sub-assemblies for voestalpine SIGNALING’s product line.
  • Meet production schedules, takt times, and throughput goals
  • Follow safety, ESD, and OSHA requirements while maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Follow standard processes to meet quality standards-Identify defects, perform rework, and document issues according to quality standards
  • Follow standard processes for shipping and receiving
  • Assist with inventory maintenance and required inventory accountability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions
  • Perform functional testing, calibration, and basic diagnostics of electrical and mechanical components
  • Infrequent domestic and international travel possible (e.g., USA, CAN, MEX)
  • Technicians will work with high and low voltage electricity and electrical wiring components.
  • Over Time as required due to production and delivery schedules
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required skills

  • Must be able to assemble mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Must be able to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Ensure continuity of circuits in electrical wiring to ensure safe operation of system.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, torque tools, meters, and basic test equipment
  • ?Identify and correct malfunctioning installation and/or components using test equipment and hand tools.
  • Experience with assembly processes, wiring, crimping, soldering, or mechanical fastening
  • High regards for safety

  • Basic Hand and Power Tool Proficiency

  • Assembling and disassembling of mechanical components
  • Basic knowledge in the field of Information Technology

  • Valid driver license and the ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to stand, lift, carry, and perform repetitive tasks in a production environment
  • Ability to comply with FRA drug and alcohol regulations

Preferred skills

  • A 2–4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous?experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting, preferably in an electronics shop
  • General Fabrication Skills
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices
  • Previous experience in high-mix, low-volume or regulated manufacturing environments
  • Railroad Experience
  • Sensor knowledge
  • Understanding of ESD control and electro-static sensitive components
  • Experience troubleshooting powered systems up to defined voltage limits
  • Some technical writing
  • Basic railroad infrastructure knowledge and/or experience
  • Second language (e.g. German, Spanish)
