- Process bi-weekly payroll for multi-state employees.
- Review and validate payroll data.
- Reconcile payroll registers to the general ledger and prepare related journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Manage payroll tax filings and coordinate with third-party providers.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Support month-end and year-end processes, including W-2 reviews.
- Assist with audits by preparing requested payroll documentation.
- **This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must be comfortable coming into the office on an as-needed basis, approximately once per month.
- General knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts.
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, etc.)
- Strong communication and collaborative skills.
- Experience with third-party payroll providers and tax regulations/compliance.
- Familiarity with accounting software, journal entries, and reconciliations.
