The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Overview:
As a Hemodialysis Tech you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, perform hemodialysis procedures, order, stock supplies, disinfect/clean RO system, jugs, machines and perform environmental safety checks of the unit.
Qualifications:
- Must be certified as mandated by CMS within eighteen (18) months of their date of hire as a Dialysis Technician.
- Obtain BLS through AHA within three months of employment in this position.
- Ability to perform all competencies is required for employment in this position.
- One year of nursing assistant experience is preferred.

Essential Functions:
- Promotes and implements the concept of patient and family-centered care.
- Observes and reports to the Registered Nurse patient’s response to intervention/treatments.
- Promotes a compassionate and supportive environment.
- Records vital signs and bedside glucose testing results.
- Manages the care of the pre, intra, and post procedural patient according to hospital procedures and standards of care.
- Anticipates patient needs through frequent rounds, observation and communication.
- Collects specimens; labels accurately and ensures delivery to appropriate department.
- Recognizes and reports pertinent observations, changes in patient status, incidents and patient care activities to the professional registered nurse.
- Performs necessary steps to place R/O system on bypass and informs Nurse Manager.
- Clean hemodialysis machines and chairs/bed with a bleach solution between patient treatments.
- Recognizes and corrects problems involving dialyzer leaks or defects in arterial or venous lines.
- Sets up flow-sheet logs for water testing and equipment maintenance.
