Signage Technical Designer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Signage Technical Draftsman to create and finalize production-ready drawings for signage projects. This role bridges design and fabrication by translating concepts into precise technical drawings that guide manufacturing and installation. The ideal candidate ensures all signage drafts meet brand standards, structural requirements, and code compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

    Develop detailed technical drawings for interior and exterior signage (channel letters, monuments, pylons, wayfinding, ADA signage, etc.)Translate design concepts into fabrication-ready shop drawings and install packagesReview and sign off on technical drafts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliancePrepare permit drawings in accordance with local municipal codes and zoning regulationsCollaborate with project managers, designers, engineers, and fabrication teamsSpecify materials, dimensions, mounting methods, and illumination details (LED, electrical layouts)Revise drawings based on client feedback, site surveys, and engineering requirementsMaintain version control and organized documentation of all drawing revisionsEnsure all signage drawings align with brand guidelines and client specifications


Requirements:

    Proven experience in signage drafting, architectural drafting, or related fieldProficiency in CorelDRAW and CAD software (AutoCAD/Adobe Illustrator/CorelDRAW)Strong understanding of signage fabrication methods and materialsKnowledge of permitting processes, local codes, and ADA complianceAbility to read and interpret architectural and site plansHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Skills:

    Experience with national signage programs or multi-site rolloutsFamiliarity with UL standards, electrical components, and illuminated signageKnowledge of CNC/router files and fabrication workflowsExperience conducting or interpreting site surveysAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentHas 4-5 years of experience.Portfolio submission required
