This role troubleshoots, configures, documents, and sustains COMSEC-related systems and associated planning tools in accordance with Government procedures and applicable security requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 2 help desk support for COMSEC-related incidents, requests, and troubleshooting, including analysis, resolution, and documented corrective actions.
  • Perform intermediate-level technical support for ACES and SKL equipment in support of Section 3.6 tasks.
  • Support operation, configuration, troubleshooting, and sustainment of additional ACES/SKL components, fill devices, and associated Mission Planner systems as required.
  • Coordinate with Government personnel and contractor teammates to triage issues, determine root cause, and escalate to Tier 3/engineering/vendor support when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate ticketing, maintenance logs, and status reporting; ensure work is documented in accordance with Government processes and security requirements.
  • Assist with inventory accountability and serviceability checks for COMSEC equipment and related peripherals, as directed.
  • Support end-user guidance and technical assistance on approved procedures for equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in proficiency activities and recurring sustainment actions to ensure continued readiness and compliance.
Required Qualifications
  • Intermediate working knowledge of ACES and SKL equipment sufficient to execute tasks.
  • Top Secret Clearance.
  • Demonstrated Tier 2 technical support experience (e.g., troubleshooting, incident resolution, and customer support).
  • Ability to learn and apply Government procedures, technical orders, and local operating instructions.
  • Strong documentation skills, including accurate ticket updates, maintenance actions, and status reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated Government/contractor team.
  • Ability to successfully complete Government-provided ACES/SKL, fill device, and Mission Planner systems training (see Training Requirements).
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Tactical Networking Environment NetOps Toolkit (J-TNT).

The Government will provide additional training on ACES, SKL, fill devices, and Mission Planner systems to contractor employees. If a contract employee fails to satisfactorily complete the initial course, one additional class date will be provided; however, the Contractor will be responsible for full cost reimbursement for the additional class date. If the contract employee fails to satisfactorily complete the course the second time, the individual will not meet the technical qualification requirement as an ACES and SKL technician.

Employees will be required to complete a rigorous on-the-job training (OJT) schedule developed by the Government in cooperation with the Contractor to ensure ACES/SKL Technicians remain proficient.

  • Maintain required access/eligibility/clearance level as specified by the contract and the Government (as applicable).
  • Adhere to all applicable handling, accountability, and reporting requirements for COMSEC-related devices and components.
Working Conditions & Schedule

Work is typically performed in a technical support/help desk environment with hands-on interaction with COMSEC devices and associated planning systems.
