The registered nurse provides care to patients in an Adult Behavioral Health Unit. Under the direction and leadership of the Nurse Manager, the RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through knowledge of the nursing process and age specific requirements, and by following departmental and hospital policy and procedure. The Registered Nurse must have excellent assessment skills, clinical skills, organizational skills, and computer knowledge and charge capabilities. The Registered Nurse must be able to lift, transfer and move patients. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively document care, delegate assignments, relay information, make referrals, and act as liaison between patient, physicians, other hospital disciplines, and community agencies.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Certification/ Licensure:
  • Current nursing license in Massachusetts required.
  • BCLS required.
• Experience: At least 1 year experience in psychiatric nursing preferred.
