Financial Planner Job Profile
The Financial Planner works directly with our clients and is responsible for the development of financial planning analysis and recommendations. The ideal candidate will distill complex financial concepts into clear, actionable advice while collaborating closely with wealth advisors and specialists to deliver seamless, integrated solutions to clients. This role shares responsibility for the direction, training and development of associate team members. They will contribute to the successful completion of strategic initiatives (“Rocks”) at both the team and firmwide levels.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver expert financial planning analysis and guidance to clients; conduct comprehensive reviews including retirement income planning, wealth accumulation and transfer strategies, college funding analysis, etc.
- Incorporate Life Planning philosophy into financial planning approach.
- Interpret complex financial planning strategies and deliver easy-to-understand summaries for clients.
- Work cohesively with wealth advisors and specialist teams to seamlessly deliver integrated financial guidance.
- Effectively utilize other team resources to improve productivity.
- Contribute to firm-wide development and implementation of financial planning services.
- Demonstrate strategic perspective and contribute to the completion of team initiatives.
- Exercise independent judgment to lead special projects, identify and resolve issues using critical thinking, and make informed decisions that foster team confidence and trust.
- Exhibit expertise in core responsibilities and key technology platforms, serving as a go-to resource for team members.

Requirements
- Strong academic track record, including the achievement of a bachelor’s or advanced degree.
- 3+ years of client-facing experience in the financial services industry.
- Certified Financial Planner designation required; Life Planning experience a plus.
- A positive, client-centric mindset with the initiative and drive to exceed expectations.
- Ability to coordinate across teams and manage internal processes, with a high attention to detail.
- Self-motivated to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
- Demonstrate initiative to grow both personally and professionally as our industry and firm changes.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of working on a computer and occasional periods sitting.
· May have to lift up to 15 pounds.
· Minimal travel required. Frequent attendance at internal meetings required.
· Occasional attendance at meeting with outside partners.
· Travel outside the region may be required for business and/or professional development.
