Dispatcher at SALSON LOGISTICS INC – SAVANNAH, Georgia

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods. This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze data effectively. The Dispatcher will work closely with drivers, customers, and other departments to maintain seamless operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage daily dispatch operations to ensure timely delivery of shipments.

Communicate effectively with drivers regarding routes, schedules, and any changes in plans.

Utilize GPS and GIS technologies to optimize routing and monitor vehicle locations.

Perform data entry tasks accurately to maintain up-to-date records in the system.

Analyze transportation data to identify trends and improve efficiency.

Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring compliance with regulations.

Operate phone systems to handle incoming calls and provide excellent customer service.

Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to transportation logistics.

Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and stay updated on new technologies.

Requirements:

3+ years of logistics, drayage, or trucking dispatch experience

2+ years of pier container experience

3+ years of experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Profit Tools or Trinium

Knowledge of Linehaul Transportation

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity with camera systems and geotagging tools is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with employees at other locations.

Strong organizational skills.
