Job Summary:

Do you have the skills, passion, and leadership to take charge of a professional bakery operation?

The Bakery Customer Service Associate provides exceptional service to customers by offering product knowledge, accurate order handling, and maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming bakery environment. This role supports daily bakery operations, assists with packaging and merchandising baked goods, and ensures compliance with all food safety and company standards.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assists the Bakery Manager.
• Greets and responds and attends to customer requests by providing a high level of customer service.
• Responsible for various duties including preparing items for sale, arranging and wrapping bakery products, and placing bakery items in display cases.
• Assists with pricing, stocking and rotating merchandise in the department to ensure freshness.
• Maintains and properly uses all department equipment as required.
• Ability to maintain department sanitation and quality standards by cleaning and sanitizing all work surfaces, cases, utensils and equipment. Keeping floor clear of debris and spills.
• Checks refrigeration equipment for proper performance regularly; reporting any failures immediately.
• Utilizes and maintains equipment as required by department; reports any equipment problems immediately.
• Complies with hand washing standards and use of disposable gloves when handling food.
• Assists with receiving in deliveries.
• Meets all work schedules and complies with all time and attendance policies.
  

Physical Requirements:

• Is regularly required to stand and/or walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• The associate is frequently required to bend, twist, reach, push and pull.
• The associate must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 lbs.
• The associate must be able to work in varying temperatures.
• The associate must be able to work with a wide variety of fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
• This position requires an associate to be able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
