About This Position

WHO WE ARE:
Next Level Games is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd.

We’ve been passionate about video game development for 20 years now, shipping award-winning games for fans across the world and still going strong. Some of our titles include Super Mario Strikers, Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out!!, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Metroid Prime Federation Force, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and most recently Mario Strikers: Battle League.

At NLG, we believe that a project finds success when we collaborate. Therefore, we place careful consideration to build an environment where everyone feels welcome and has fun in the process of achieving our shared goals.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
We’re looking for an Intermediate Producer to provide structure and support to technical development teams by bringing clarity, and strong cross‑discipline alignment to complex, technical work. You’ll partner closely with engineers, technical artists, and designers to help deliver game experiences that surprise and delight players around the world.

Our producers don’t just track tasks; they empower people to succeed. They ask questions, remove ambiguity, keep priorities visible, and step in with the right amount of structure so teams can stay focused and effective.

  • Drive momentum and remove blockers:
    • Partner with your teams to translate high‑level goals into clear, actionable plans
    • Facilitate creative problem‑solving to unblock progress and help teams navigate technical and creative unknowns
    • Oversee the development of features and initiatives from concept through completion, ensuring goals and deliverables are met
    • Proactively track dependencies and risks to call-out issues before they become blockers
  • Enable strong collaboration:
    • Facilitate cross‑discipline collaboration so teams can work effectively toward ambitious goals
    • Create space for experts to problem solve while keeping discussions focused and productive
    • Run efficient meetings that respect people’s time, capture decisions, and close with clear ownership and next steps
    • Invest in understanding our underlying tech and tools well enough to communicate effectively with the experts
  • Own visibility and alignment:
    • Partner with leadership to understand and balance priorities, ensuring teams have the context they need to execute well
    • Collaborate with Directors and Leads to develop and communicate the vision and roadmaps for your areas
    • Provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders and external partners without creating noise
  • Build production plans and processes that teams trust:
    • Create and maintain sprint, milestone, and project‑level plans; monitor capacity and progress
    • Identify opportunities to reduce friction and improve processes in a way teams will use
    • Help maintain and evolve our task‑tracking tools to make sure they are accessible and clear

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
  • 4+ years of relevant experience supporting complex technical development, or highly technical creative development, ideally within console games
  • Demonstrated ability to bring clarity to ambiguity by diving into the unknown, learning quickly, and keeping work moving forward while details are still evolving
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across design, art, and engineering to unify teams around shared goals
  • Experience supporting initiatives where you are not the primary subject‑matter expert, and confidence to partner effectively with specialists to drive outcomes
  • Experience working with a range of production methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Waterfall) and creatively adapting approaches to fit the needs of the team
  • Experience working through a full production cycle on a console game is a strong asset
  • Collaborative by nature, open to feedback, and motivated by continuous learning, especially in technically complex spaces
  • Passion for video games!

WHY YOU’LL LOVE WORKING HERE:
  • Competitive annual leave and benefits, including discretionary performance bonus program and health coverage
  • Support for mental health, financial well-being, legal assistance and more through our Employee Assistance Program
  • Access to our in-studio gym, and an extensive media library
  • Join a committee – board games, sports, or something else – it’s all here!
  • Discounted shopping for Nintendo products and merchandise at the online employee store
  • A workplace that values inclusivity and encourages continuous growth
  • A chance to be part of Nintendo, creating award winning games that make an impact

The hiring range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000 CAD annually and is subject to change. The final base salary compensation will be based on factors such as skills, education, and experience.

At NLG, we know the best teams are made up of players with different skills, perspectives, and experience. We're committed to creating a workspace where everyone can contribute and feel included. If you need any accommodations during the hiring process, please contact careers@nextlevelgames.com, and we will do our best to support your needs.
