Position Overview:
The Media Quality & Support Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of DanceBUG’s media. From validating and processing dance videos and photos to providing technical support to our in-field photographers and videographers, you’ll ensure every piece of media meets our high standards. Using custom software, you’ll troubleshoot, monitor, and deliver quality content with quick turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities:
Media Management & Quality Control
  • Ingest, validate, and organize video and photo data from dance competitions and recitals.
  • Use custom software to label, set in/out points, convert, and upload media files.
  • Perform quality assurance to ensure all media meets specifications for video codecs, bitrates, and compression.
Remote Technical Support
  • Serve as the primary contact for in-field photographers and videographers, providing support via Slack and phone.
  • Use TeamViewer and other remote tools to troubleshoot and resolve equipment or software issues on location.
  • Monitor live streams for quality and ensure smooth, timely starts.
Data Handling & Organization
  • Efficiently manage data transfers, FTP uploads, and file organization for easy access and retrieval.
  • Address and resolve data entry issues to maintain database integrity.
Qualifications:
Media & Technology Skills
  • Solid knowledge of video, audio, and photo formats, including file conversions and compression settings.
  • Basic familiarity with camera operations (Canon XA15 and DSLRs preferred) and experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere a plus).
  • Strong proficiency with software tools such as Slack, TeamViewer, Microsoft Office, Teams, and SharePoint.
Technical Support Abilities
  • Strong communication skills for assisting in-field staff with troubleshooting in real time.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve media equipment issues and software problems.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection to support frequent file transfers and content uploads.
Detail-Oriented & Organized
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle time-sensitive tasks under pressure.
  • Highly organized with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
