Position Summary:

Step into a pivotal executive role that shapes the future of healthcare delivery across our region. As the Executive Director of the Kootenai Care Network (KCN), you will be the strategic force turning vision into reality, driving clinical integration, elevating performance, and forging partnerships that transform how care is delivered.

In this role, you won’t just manage operations; you’ll influence the direction of a clinically integrated network that directly impacts patient outcomes, provider success, and organizational value. Working alongside the Kootenai Health Executive Team, physician leaders, and the KCN Board, you will lead initiatives that strengthen collaboration, improve quality, and advance the system’s long‑term strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with KCN physician leadership, develops and executes strategies for growing the provider network in support of organizational goals
  • Lead the program and its goals with internal and external stakeholder groups
  • Support and guides the KCN transformation process across the organization by working with various constituents, including physicians, PHOs, payors, area providers, regional regulatory agencies, and Board leadership
  • Manage and enhance the provider network to support the program through selective provider participation and recruitment
  • Coordinate relationship development activities and manages ongoing partnerships
  • Ensure that new providers are engaged in a timely manner and that concerns or inquires are adequately addressed
  • Responsible for clinical outcomes, patient experience, and cost effectiveness
  • Manage program measures, performance targets, administrative procedures, data components, and incentive distribution designs are adequate, equitable, and effective in driving program outcomes and achieving organizational strategies
  • Ensure that appropriate patient outreach, education, and other “activation” components are designed into the organization's approaches to driving value creation
  • Support KCN governance by preparing agendas and applicable materials for optimal governance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provide leadership and direction for team of direct reports, including personnel actions
  • Maintain intimate knowledge of contracts, actively participating in discussions
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Highly reliable, accountable, and attentive to the needs of the organization
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or related field required
  • Minimum 7 years’ senior-level healthcare operations management experience required; experience in managed care organizations, large-organized physician groups, or integrated delivery systems preferred
  • Demonstrated operational planning expertise with knowledge of current healthcare regulatory and policy requirements
  • Experience with population health management analytics and metrics
  • High-level knowledge of HIT requirements to support CI programs
  • Strong executive function, team leadership, interpersonal, and consensus-building skills
  • Demonstrated physician and Board-level communications skills
