About This Position
Position Summary
The Enterprise Systems Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and ongoing support of the organization’s SAP ecosystem and related enterprise applications. This role manages a team of SAP Consultants and Analysts supporting key modules including SD/LE, EDI SD, FI/CO, eWM/WM/MM, and Integration (Seeberger / SAP Integration Suite). The ideal candidate brings strong hands on SAP expertise—preferably in SD/LE or another core functional area—combined with excellent leadership, business relationship skills, and project management capabilities. The Enterprise Systems Manager serves as the primary liaison between IT and business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions effectively support operational and strategic needs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of SAP functional analysts and consultants across modules (SD/LE, EDI SD, FI/CO, eWM/WM/MM, Integration).
- Oversee workload distribution, prioritization, and timely resolution of incidents, enhancements, and project deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative, high performance culture with strong customer focus and accountability.
- Coordinate with external partners and SAP vendors to supplement internal capabilities as needed.
SAP Functional & Technical Oversight
- Provide hands on functional support for SD/LE or another significant SAP module, including configuration, troubleshooting, and process optimization.
- Ensure successful operation, integration, and performance of SAP across all supported modules.
- Oversee development and maintenance of EDI and application integrations using Seeberger and SAP Integration Suite.
- Ensure alignment of SAP processes with business requirements, compliance needs, and standard best practices.
Business Relationship Management
- Serve as a strategic partner to business leaders across supply chain, logistics, finance, sales, and warehouse operations.
- Translate business requirements into well scoped technical solutions within SAP and associated applications.
- Communicate system capabilities, constraints, risks, and opportunities clearly to stakeholders.
- Champion user experience improvements, training needs, and adoption of new functionality.
Project & Portfolio Management
- Lead SAP related projects, enhancements, system upgrades, integrations, and process optimization initiatives.
- Manage timelines, budgets, resources, risks, and communication plans for all enterprise systems initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate testing (unit, integration, regression, UAT) and documentation for all changes.
- Support planning and execution of major SAP roadmap activities such as modernization, migrations, and cross system integrations.
Governance, Quality & Operations
- Maintain consistent standards for configuration documentation, functional specifications, and technical designs.
- Oversee change management processes and ensure alignment with IT governance and SOX/compliance requirements.
- Monitor system performance, coordinate issue escalations, and ensure operational stability of SAP and integrations.
- Partner closely with Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure reliability, performance, and security of enterprise systems.
Base Salary Range: $153,000.00 - $173,000.00 per year contingent upon experience.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of SAP functional experience (SD/LE strongly preferred, or deep expertise in another major module).
- 3+ years of experience managing or leading SAP functional teams or enterprise application teams.
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite, Seeberger, and integration technologies such as IDocs, API, RFC, and EDI.
- Strong understanding of SAP processes across order to cash, procure to pay, finance, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated success managing business stakeholders and delivering technology initiatives.
- Solid project management skills, including resource planning, scope management, and risk mitigation.
Preferred
- Experience in SAP S/4 HANA environments.
- Familiarity with retail, distribution, or supply chain intensive operations.
- Professional certifications (PMP, ITIL, SAP certifications) a plus.
- Experience managing third party consultants and offshore support models.
