Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the maintenance, safety, reliability, and functionality of all facility systems, including buildings, grounds, refrigeration, utilities, and production support equipment. This role ensures that facilities and refrigeration systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with USDA, OSHA, and PSM requirements while supporting daily production and long-term reliability initiatives.
The Facilities Manager leads preventive and predictive maintenance efforts, oversees vendor relationships, and partners closely with Operations, Safety, and Leadership to ensure a safe and dependable manufacturing environment.
Scope of Responsibilities:
· Oversight of facility infrastructure, utilities, and refrigeration systems
· Leadership of facility and maintenance activities
· Ownership of facility safety, compliance, and reliability initiatives
· Support of daily and emergency production operations
Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Reliability
- Drive a Maintenance and Reliability program focused on preventive and predictive maintenance, not reactive maintenance.
- Maintain daily facility operations, including managing and delegating work orders.
- Document daily refrigeration rounds and retain records for future reference.
- Assist with production maintenance coverage, including vacation and emergency support.
Refrigeration Systems (Ammonia)
- Ensure ammonia refrigeration systems are properly maintained, compliant, and reliable.
- Lead updates to SOPs related to refrigeration and facilities.
- Ensure compliance with PSM-related safety standards and documentation.
Safety, Compliance & Inspections
- Ensure appropriate safety measures are implemented across all facility areas.
- Partner with Safety professionals and security vendors as needed.
- Schedule and coordinate routine inspections and emergency repairs with external vendors.
- Support external inspections, audits, and regulatory requirements related to facilities and refrigeration.
Leadership & Reporting
- Delegate facility maintenance responsibilities to team members.
- Lead with a servant leadership mindset, setting expectations through example.
- Develop and maintain quality and safety standards related to facilities.
- Prepare reports related to maintenance, safety, repairs, and operational issues for leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive responsibility in a food manufacturing environment.
· Strong working knowledge of USDA and OSHA regulations.
· General knowledge of Human Resources and workplace safety practices.
· Proven organizational and leadership skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
· Ability to prioritize work effectively and resolve operational issues.
· Ability to manage and lead a diverse workforce with fairness and consistency.
· Computer proficiency.
· Availability to work a flexible and variable schedule as required.
Benefits Overview
Competitive base salary ($120,000 to 135,000 annually). Base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Full benefits package, including medical/ vision/ dental/life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards, including an annual incentive program based on individual and company performance.
