Job Description
The Pre-Press Technician & Graphic Designer is responsible for all work performed in the prepress process. Works on client’s images for crisp, perfectly aligned printing, creates physical printing proofs, digital files, and the Print Production of such designs.
Analyze files provided by clients or in-house design teams and assess suitability for printing, checking critical aspects of images and text.
Troubleshoot and fix file issues, including alignment, color, exposure, clarity, grain and other image and typography problems, as well as manipulating for bleed and registration.
Convert approved image files for use with digital printing equipment or physical Production preparation.
Operate several presses with different size and color capacities.
Manage separations and review changes to meet equipment requirements.
Set up, monitor, and adjust the printing processes.
Perform light maintenance of equipment, including replacement of consumable supplies as needed.
Transfer files and proof images electronically.
Review and plan job scheduling based on verbal or printed instructions by management.
Ability to work in a team environment

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of design, color theory and typography. ·
3-5 years of experience in fast-paced production environment.
Proficiency in graphic design software
Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

AA / Graphic Design degree is a plus.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
Previous knowledge of production printing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Normal, no adverse or hazardous conditions. Warehouse and plant with exposure to dust, noise and fumes. Walking and standing 100% on concrete flooring.
Position requires grasping and utilizing manual dexterity including hand/finger coordination and the utilization of color vision.
The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals and heat.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Lift up to 50 lbs; lift up to 100 lbs with assistance occasionally.
Ability to use computer and calculator.
Ability to sit (5%), stand (55%), walk (20%), kneel/squat (10%) and bend (10%) for eight hours.
