MAINTENANCE WORKER (PORTER) in NEW HYDE PARK, New York at Day & Nite Air Conditioning Service Corp

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Worker / Porter to perform a wide range of maintenance, cleaning, and facility support duties. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and overall appearance of both the interior and exterior of the building. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently or under direction as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of all interior spaces including:

Cleaning and sanitizing all bathrooms, as well as keeping bathrooms stocked with required materials

Dusting and vacuuming all public and office areas

Emptying and removing garbage and recycling from all designated areas

Maintain the exterior of the building:

Daily removal of debris, waste, and litter from sidewalks, entryways, and surrounding grounds

Snow and ice removal from entrances and walkways during winter months

General upkeep of exterior materials and landscaping as needed

Ensure all trash and recycling bins are taken out on the designated collection days and returned promptly after pickup

Assist with loading and unloading of delivery trucks; direct others as needed to ensure efficient handling of materials

Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned

Report any safety hazards, repair needs, or building issues to the supervisor immediately

Follow all safety guidelines and building protocols

Complete all other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Proven experience in maintenance, custodial, or porter roles

Ability to use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment

Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs

Strong attention to detail and time management skills

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Must be dependable and punctual

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM with occasional weekend shifts as needed

Work Environment:

Combination of indoor and outdoor work

Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, and varying weather conditions
