Master Fleet Mechanic in Sun Valley, California at Paramount Lender Solutions, LLC
Job Description
About Paramount Recovery Service
Paramount Recovery Service is a leading auto recovery company with more than 30 years in the industry. We serve lenders, credit unions, and financial institutions across California, Arizona, and Hawaii. Our services include repossessions, impound releases, voluntary surrenders, locksmithing, vehicle transport, and remarketing.
We work around the clock. Our field teams are backed by a 24/7 dispatch center, license plate recognition (LPR) technology, and routing software. We also run centralized storage and staging facilities throughout our service area. Our business depends on our fleet. When our trucks are safe, reliable, and on the road, our clients get the fast, professional service they count on. We're building an in-house fleet maintenance program to support that, and we're looking for experienced leaders to help run it.
About the Position
We're hiring Master Fleet Mechanics to oversee maintenance and repair of our California fleet. The fleet includes more than 100 Ford gasoline tow trucks and about 75 Toyota Prius vehicles.
We're looking for senior mechanics who can diagnose and repair vehicles themselves and also lead and develop a team of mechanics in their region.
This is a primarily mobile, field-based position, not a traditional shop-based role. You'll work out of a home-base Paramount facility and regularly travel to company locations throughout your region to diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicles on-site. The role requires extensive hands-on mobile repair work to minimize vehicle downtime and keep our fleet operational.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead, train, and supervise the mechanics assigned to your region, including reviewing their work and performance
- Serve as the senior technical resource for fleet maintenance issues
- Set repair priorities based on operational needs and vehicle availability
- Set up consistent repair and preventive maintenance practices across locations
- Spot recurring vehicle problems and recommend fixes that improve reliability and reduce downtime
- Keep management updated on vehicle status, major repairs, parts needs, and fleet concerns
- Help leadership build and improve Paramount's in-house fleet maintenance program
Hands-on maintenance and repair
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair Ford gasoline tow trucks and Toyota Prius vehicles
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, drivetrain, brake, suspension, cooling, and hybrid system issues
- Perform and oversee preventive maintenance to keep vehicles safe and reliable
- Keep accurate service, repair, and maintenance records
- Make sure all work is done safely and to professional standards
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair tow trucks, including rollback systems, hydraulic components, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, cylinders, and other components used in tow-truck and rollback operations.
- Perform on-site troubleshooting and mobile repairs of tow trucks and fleet vehicles at company locations throughout the assigned region.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet at least one of the following:
- At least 10 years of professional automotive repair experience, including significant time working at a senior or master mechanic level;
- A recognized automotive technician certification (such as ASE) or formal technician training, plus at least 8 years of hands-on professional experience
Candidates must also have:
- Strong hands-on experience servicing and repairing Ford trucks, especially gasoline commercial or fleet vehicles
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing tow trucks, including hydraulic systems and rollback equipment.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and perform repairs in mobile or field-based environments.
- Experience servicing the Toyota Prius or other Toyota hybrids
- Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working on fleet or commercial vehicles
- Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor other mechanics
- Willingness to do mobile and field repairs at multiple company locations
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs in a fast-paced environment
- A valid California driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to travel regularly within your region
- Strong communication, organization, and recordkeeping skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Master Automobile Technician certification or equivalent
- Prior experience as a fleet supervisor, shop foreman, or lead mechanic
- Experience running preventive maintenance programs for large commercial fleets
- Experience managing mechanics across multiple locations
What We Offer
- $75,000–$120,000 annual salary, depending on experience
