About the Role

The Nurse Practitioner Injector delivers advanced aesthetic treatments and serves as a clinical prescriber for the skin clinic team. This role combines a personal injectable practice with new patient assessments and treatment orders, supporting safe, compliant care as regulatory expectations for cosmetic injectables evolve. The ideal candidate is clinically excellent, patient focused, and comfortable building a loyal patient base while holding the highest standards of safety and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice

  • Perform advanced aesthetic treatments with precision and skill, including neuromodulators, dermal fillers, PRP, fat dissolving, microneedling, and other procedures, delivering natural looking results.
  • Complete thorough consultations that build confidence, set realistic expectations, and create a memorable patient experience.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and recommend treatments and products based on clinical need and patient goals.
  • Independently assess, diagnose, and prescribe within the NP scope of practice, ordering and administering treatments on your own authority.
  • Recognize and manage complications and adverse events, including vascular occlusion, following clinic protocols and documenting thoroughly.

New Patient Assessment and Prescriber Duties

  • Conduct clinical assessments of new patients, including health history, medications, allergies, contraindications, skin and facial assessment, and suitability for treatment.
  • Complete assessments in person or virtually on designated prescriber days, ensuring new patients are assessed before treatment by other injectors or within the timeframe required by current College standards.
  • Issue patient specific treatment orders, and where applicable authorize and maintain medical directives, for RN and RPN injectors performing treatments under your authority.
  • Obtain and document informed consent for assessed patients and for treatments you perform.
  • Remain reachable during clinic hours when treatments are being performed under your orders and provide guidance on complications or changes in patient status.
  • Review a sample of charts for treatments performed under your orders and participate in ongoing quality and safety monitoring.
  • Keep current with the College of Nurses of Ontario and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario guidance and support the clinic in adapting processes when standards change.

Patient Experience and Retention

  • Cultivate and nurture a loyal patient base through strong relationships, thoughtful follow up, and clear aftercare.
  • Support retention and clinic growth by recommending treatment plans and products ethically, with the patient's goals and safety first.
  • Demonstrate genuine care and attentiveness across every stage of the patient journey.
  • Participate in the clinic's welcome and follow up programs for new and consulting patients.

Safety, Compliance, and Team

  • Maintain the highest standards of infection control, product handling, documentation, and privacy under PHIPA and PIPEDA.
  • Practice within CNO standards and clinic policies, including consent, record keeping, and incident reporting.
  • Collaborate with injectors, aestheticians, and front desk teams, and contribute to training and mentorship of clinical staff.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Nurse Practitioner (Extended Class), in good standing.
  • Professional liability protection as required by the CNO.
  • Active membership with a professional nursing association such as RNAO or NPAO.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Documented training and hands on experience in neuromodulators and dermal fillers (aesthetic experience required).
  • Strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • Genuine passion for supporting patients' health, well-being, and satisfaction.
  • Enthusiasm for skincare education and creating confident, positive patient experiences.
