Job Description

We're Hiring: Senior Accountant

Wilmington, NC preferred — Remote available | Full-Time | Exempt

Reports to: SVP of Finance & Operations

$80,000 – $100,000 base salary

About Does Entertainment

Every sold-out night starts months earlier, in a spreadsheet.

Does Entertainment owns and operates live music venues, produces festivals, and promotes stadium-scale shows. We build the operational backbone behind all of it — the settlements, the systems, and the financial infrastructure that let artists and operators focus on the show. We are for the fans, the artists, and the spaces that bring us together.

This year’s slate includes a stadium show we promoted this spring and a festival, alongside the two venues we own and operate year-round. Next year’s calendar is materially larger, and our venue portfolio is growing with it.

That growth is exactly why this role exists. We are building a finance function that can keep pace: a multi-entity Sage Intacct environment, real controls, and reporting leadership actually uses to make decisions. You would be joining early enough to shape how it works, and at a company with enough scale that the work is genuinely complex.

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting operations across our growing portfolio of entities and to help strengthen the close, controls, and reporting infrastructure behind our venues and events.

This is a broad, hands-on role. You will touch everything from vendor setup through month-end close, and you will work directly with the SVP of Finance & Operations rather than through layers of management. If you like owning the details and improving the process while you do it, you will do well here.

We are hiring at the senior end of this range, and we are looking for it to show — in technical depth, in judgment, and ideally in fluency with how event-driven businesses actually run.

What You'll Do

Accounting Operations

  • Own full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable across multiple entities
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices; track collections and resolve discrepancies
  • Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Process intercompany transactions, allocations, and journal entries
  • Maintain vendor records, W-9s, contracts, and 1099 compliance documentation
  • Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax returns across multiple states

Month-End Close & Reporting

  • Support month-end close through accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy across multiple entities
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reporting packages
  • Partner with the SVP of Finance & Operations on close timeline, quality, and reporting accuracy

Systems, Controls & Process

  • Support ongoing Sage Intacct ERP optimization and system enhancements
  • Document and improve accounting standard operating procedures
  • Help build and operate a strengthening internal control environment, including segregation of duties, approval workflows, and audit readiness
  • Coordinate with venue and operations teams on payments, vendor compliance, and financial workflows

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Multi-entity accounting, including intercompany transactions and allocations
  • Hands-on preparation and filing of multi-state sales and use tax returns
  • Hands-on experience in a multi-entity cloud ERP — Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Acumatica, Dynamics 365 Business Central, or equivalent. QuickBooks-only experience is not a fit for this role.
  • Advanced Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and high-volume reconciliation work
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Strongly Preferred

  • Sage Intacct specifically. It is our system, and someone who already knows its dimension structure and multi-entity setup will be productive from week one.
  • Accounting experience in live entertainment, hospitality, venues, festivals, sports, or another multi-site, event-driven business. Familiarity with event settlements, venue-level P&Ls, per-event revenue recognition, or seasonal and event-driven cash cycles is a real advantage here — this is an industry where the accounting calendar follows the show calendar.

Also Preferred

  • Experience documenting SOPs or supporting an ERP implementation
  • Experience supporting an external tax preparer or audit with clean, well-organized schedules
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and comfort operating independently in a fast-paced environment

A CPA license is not required for this role. Our tax work is handled by an external accounting firm. We are hiring for operational depth and judgment, not credentials.

Why Does Entertainment

  • Work that connects to the show. Your reconciliations have a soundtrack. Employees get event access and staff ticket allocations — this is finance work you can point at, and be at.
  • Direct line to leadership. You report to the SVP of Finance & Operations, with no layers in between and real visibility into how decisions get made.
  • Build, don’t just maintain. Sage Intacct optimization, SOP development, and a controls environment we are actively investing in — not a seat where you inherit someone else’s process and keep it running.
  • Time off we take seriously. Eight paid holidays, 15 days of PTO, and an office closure from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Eve that does not come out of your PTO — roughly three weeks of paid time away before you touch your balance.
  • Room to grow. This role is designed to grow into Accounting Manager as our entity portfolio expands.
  • Colleagues who know the business. Experienced, down-to-earth operators who have done this at scale.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $80,000 – $100,000 base salary, commensurate with experience
  • 401(k) with company match — 100% of the first 3% you contribute, plus 50% of the next 2% (a 4% company contribution when you defer 5%)
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • 15 days of paid time off
  • Eight paid holidays — New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving
  • Plus an office closure from Christmas Eve through New Year’s Eve — paid, and separate from your PTO. We work in live entertainment, so things occasionally come up and this role may need to step in, but the week is intended as a real break.
  • Remote available in any U.S. state. Wilmington, NC is preferred, but we will register to employ wherever the right candidate is.

Pre-Employment Screening
